Fabric Pattern Oops!
Ugh. I hate it when all is going well, and then there's a big bump in the road. This beautiful Tahitian fabric pattern stole my heart in the fabric store, and when I got it home and begin to turn it into a Charlie dress, it was a dream to sew. Though it looks like a batik, it's actually a nice print fabric, easy to work with. But after I had cut out the back and sewed the central seam joining the two back pieces, I noticed that the print happened to line up in such a way... well, you can see in the "back" photo below. I could have, maybe should have, stopped right then and cut another piece for one side. I did have extra fabric. But I thought it would be okay in the end, and I planned to use that fabric for another dress. Did I do right or wrong? I actually think it looks sort of like angel wings back there...
